Day 1
San Pedro de Atacama
Reception: airport in Calama. Transfer to your hotel in the town of San Pedro de Atacama. En route you will see spectacular views of the Cordillera de la Sal. After sunset we shall set out for a rare experience: At a latitude very close to the tropic of Capricorn, the SPACE observatory (San Pedro de Atacama Celestial Observatory) is the largest observatory for touristic observation in Chile.
The tours last two and a half hours, but you will remember them for a lifetime.

Afterwards return to San Pedro.

Day 2
Laguna Cejar & Salar de Atacama                                      B
In the morning we head south from San Pedro de Atacama.
We arrive at Cejar Lagoon, called “the floating lagoon”.
This small lagoon has impressive white edges of crystallized salt and intensely turquoise water, and is home to flamingos and tagua birds., It is a nice place for a swim, and the body easily floats due to the high salt content in the water -- a really relaxing experience.
After enjoying a swim we will venture to see the Salar de Atacama.
En route we visit the town of Toconao. The houses in this small, picturesque village are built of white volcanic-stone bricks, which lend the town its unique appearance. The church and its bell tower are also built from this bleached white volcanic stone. After Toconao, we continue on to the world’s largest salt lake: the Salar de Atacama. Rich in minerals, including borax and lithium, it is home to various species of flamingoes as well as many other birds. The Laguna Chaxa, part of the Reserva Nacional de los Flamingoes, offers a terrific opportunity to get closer to these birds in their natural habitat. In the evening we return to the Hotel in San Pedro.

Day 3
Monjes de Pacana                                                               B
We depart from San Pedro towards the Jama Pass, connection to Argentina, getting good close ups of both Licancabur and Juriques volcanoes.
Going up the Andes Mountains, we continue east following the international route, until we get to 4500 meters above sea level. We enjoy a beautiful landscape, native altiplanic flora and fauna full of colors.
We keep going up until the Monjes de Pacana, where fantastic, needle rock formations, sculpted by erosion, remind us of giants monks that look after the place.
Look closely and you will see sculptures shaped like an indian head, a hand, a horse, and more.
Then we continue our trip to the Catedrales, high rock walls, also impressively formed over thousand of years by the erosion.
We head back to San Pedro, where we arrive in the early afternoon.

Day 4
Geysers El Tatio + Puritama hot springs                            B
Early departure for the Geysers of El Tatio. El Tatio is situated 4,500 meters above sea level on the Altiplano. The geysers are spectacular in the early morning. There are about 40 geysers, thermal wells and fumaroles. The early morning light striking the water and steam hurling up from the geysers makes for an unforgettable experience.
On your way back to San Pedro visit the Puritama hot springs, natural font waters with a temperature of 39 degrees celcius.
After a relaxing swim, we return to San Pedro.
In the afternoon we visit the Rainbow Valley, or “Valle Arco Iris,” so named because of the color of its rocks. This colorful valley, only known by insiders, is off the typical tourist path.
