TRAVEL IDEAS Viña del Mar

Viña del Mar is the most accessible beach resort from Santiago (90 km; approx. 56 miles). Viña offers a wide selection of top-notch hotels, restaurants, coffeehouses, pubs and attractive boutiques. There is lots of live music in Viña, an elegant gambling Casino, fashionable night-spots and bars. For those looking for a few quiet days away from the capital there are lots of beautiful gardens and parks, and the art museum, the Museo de Bellas Artes has an interesting collection. In the summer time, there are open-air classical music concerts and ballets are performed in an outdoor auditorium. In February there is an international festival of modern music. Up and down the coast, close from Viña, there are many terrific beaches and fishing villages. It is easy to travel up and down exploring the pacific coast from here by rented car, public buses, taxi or guided tour.
