\In 1994 we founded travelArt, the realization of our dream, born while travelling in Chile. Our timing could not have been better. While Chile always offered excellent travel opportunities, it lacked the personal touch with smaller, more experience orientated travel companies to offer upper-end, soft-adventure, quality educational trips, cultural trips and special interest tours. Our 12 years of experience in the travel industry in Germany and the US doing product management and market research stood us in good stead to develop these opportunities.\
\
From the outset, we avoided subcontracting and offering the \'same old\' programs. We installed our own travelArt organisation throughout Chile. Now, we have own offices in the most important travel regions. Our team of highly qualified guides takes care of each passenger. We worked with others who were willing to adapt and work with our ideas -our way.\</p\>
\
Before we started, we traveled extensively throughout Chile to get to experience everything personally - from the 5 star hotels in Santiago to the smallest lodge high in the Andes. From lonely natural hot springs and over hundreds of hiking trails. We discovered the museums and native Mapuche lands, took small motor launches exploring the Chilean fiords and a few of the luxury cruise liners too. We saw the glaciers, the Straits of Magellan, the highland deserts and heartland wineries. You can be sure, that we know what we are offering.\</p\>
\
We still maintain the personal touch and remain involved in creating new tours and site inspections to our hotels and service providers. In the office, Carsten is responsible for the development of new products, customer contacts and sales. Elke is in charge of marketing. All of our brochures, manuals, photos e.g. come from her office. Our team now includes 35 permanent office staff and a countrywide selection of guides and suppliers who enjoy working with us.\ \</p\>
